About Rob Atkinson and John Ward...

Rob Atkinson and John ward have been doing Bonsai for more than 20 years and been friends for more than 23 years. Rob lives in the North east of England and has built up a reputation for himself in the Bonsai world through his talent in working on raw Bonsai material.

Many Bonsai masters of regard Rob as being one of the most talented young bonsai masters to come out of the UK for a long time.

Rob has an amazing eye that can capture the essence  of the tree in the wood. His work with raw material that has been grown for Bonsai is outstanding.

His background has been one of learning from some of the top masters in Europe and although he is now an international teacher, he still goes to workshops and classes with these masters in order to improve his own mastery of Bonsai Art.

A true teacher is always learning and does not shy away from  constantly finding out more techniques to improve his or hers  students and in that aspect  Rob Atkinson is,  in my opinion and indeed many others, one of the best young masters to come out of the UK.

I have featured Rob in my two latest books and would not have done so if I was not committed to his ability as a teacher and as a superb Bonsai Artist.

John Ward now lives in Edinburgh in Scotland and has lived there for the last 17 years although still very passionate about bonsai has never reached the level of rob, my main interest is in the art of Tai Chi which is my living i have many classes in and around Scotland.

Although i still keep and create bonsai as a hobby when I look for an expert i go to Rob for help. My other hobbies are web design and creating video on the web and i am the webmaster for this site.
